The 1966 William F. Buckley Interview of Hugh Hefner
In a time when conservative women are fighting for recognition as the country's true feminists, it's interesting to look back on the days of the "sexual revolution" to see how we've arrived at this point in cultural history. With respect to matters of sex and, more specifically, gender roles, I side with the conservative feminist - who contends that the sexual objectification of women as "art" to be ogled at, only serves to diminish the otherwise equal standing of women relative to men. I also share Buckley's contention that the idea that unabated promiscuity miraculously and inevitably leads to monogamous and/or responsible behavior over the course of time is completely unfounded by reality.
That being said, please enjoy this 1966 William F. Buckley interview of Hugh Hefner on Firing Line.
